Call for Special Sessions Proposal

Special Session on Project-based Artificial Intelligence for Digital Transition
jointly with the IEEE Artificial Intelligence for Digital and Sustainable Transition Conference (AIDIST’2026)

 

The AIDIST’2026 Scientific Board is welcoming proposals for organizing or participating in a special session from researchers and project consortium having funded projects using Artificial Intelligence. The purpose of special sessions is to provide contributors with an on-site platform for communication, dissemination, and valorization of their project deliverables. 

This call for proposals of special sessions is organized jointly with the IEEE Artificial Intelligence for DIgital and Sustainable Transition (AIDIST’2026). 

These sessions are designed as privileged platforms for disseminating the results of collaborative and funded research projects.  It consists of an opportunity to exchange with researchers in the field of Artificial Intelligence, advances in digital transition using AI, mastering different methodologies, and identifying new perspectives of research and collaboration with national and international multidisciplinary attendances. 

1. Special Session Goals
 The main objective of this special session is to valorize funded collaborative research in Artificial Intelligence at different levels and several applications. This wider objective includes the following specific goals:
  • Dissemination of major technological and scientific contributions of funded projects;
  • Technical and Scientific exchanges between Research Projects teams and participants
  • Identification of new perspectives and opportunities of academic and/or industrial collaborations.

2. Participation & Duration

2 types of special session participants are proposed. Your participation (or submission) may be as:

a) Special Session Organizer: The proposed special session must be organized by a consortium of funded projects.
The duration for each special session organizer is 2 hours.

b) Special Session Speaker in Project Corner organized by the AIDIST’2026 conference.
The duration of each special session speaker is 30 minutes.

3. Project Eligibility Criteria

Projects participating in both special session types (organizer and speaker) must respect the following criteria:

  • Having a fund for the project from national or international programs (H2020, Horizon Europe, ANR, PRIMA, PHC Maghreb, National Research call for funds, etc.);
  • Being in progress or recently closed (less than 2 years).

Projects participating in the special session organizer must respect also, the following criteria:

  • Organized by a consortium including different researchers from different institutions.
4. Special Session Organizer Submission

Proposals must be submitted by the project coordinator by filling in the following information:

  • Project Title (Acronym)
  • Special Session Coordinator (Full Name, Institution, E-mail, Phone)
  • Fund’s Program (Name of national or international program funding the project)
  • Fund’s Year
  • List of research groups, partners contributing to the project, and to the special session (Full Names, Institutions, E-mails, Phones)
  • Detailed program of special session (2 hours), which has to include at least 4 presentations. For each presentation, the submission must include these information:
    • Presentation Title and type (Oral, Poster, or Demonstration)
    • Presenter Information (Full Name, Institution, E-mail, Phone)
  • Abstract on the Special session (300 words maximum), which presents the scope of the project, research results to be disseminated, and its pertinence related to AIDIST’2026 axis See: https://forumtunisieneducation.org/colloque-intelligence-artificielle/
5. Project Corner Speaker Submission

Proposals must be submitted by the project coordinator by filling in the following information:

  • Project Title (Acronym)
  • Special Session Coordinator (Full Name, Institution, E-mail, Phone)
  • Fund’s Program (Name of national or international program funding the project)
  • Fund’s Year
  • Contact details of the speaker in the Project corner session (Name, Institutional affiliation, Email, phone).
  • Title of the presentation
  • Abstract on the presentation (maximum 300 words) which presents the central theme of the project, the main results to be disseminated, and its the relevance to AIDIST’2026 axis See: https://forumtunisieneducation.org/colloque-intelligence-artificielle/
6. Submission Procedure & Important Dates
  • Submission Deadline: February 28th, 2026
  • Acceptance Notification: April 30th, 2026
  • Registration Deadline: May 30th, 2026

NB: Submissions that do not comply with the specified requirements will be automatically rejected.

7. Evaluation Criteria

All proposals will be evaluated by the Scientific Committee on the basis of their thematic relevance and the scientific excellence of the proposed project. In the case of proposals involving the organization of a special session, due consideration will also be given to the coherence, structure  and overall consistency of the proposed program.
